INTRODUCTION: We read the accounts in the Gospels. These give us the historical reflections of the eye witnesses to the crucifixion. But what did the early church believe about the crucifixion of Jesus? What did the "Cross" mean to them? The church throughout the centuries has believed that their written explanations are to be universally accepted. What did they write concerning the Cross of Jesus?
